Name: Gaby Teller Door: Left Canon: The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (film) Canon Point: Post-Film Age: 27 Appearance: here History: wiki one wiki two Personality: Level-Headed Gaby is calm under pressure. Working as a mechanic in East Berlin she did not flinch at the life imposed upon her. She grew up knowing the good and bad of the world. There is very little that would make her flinch. While she is new to being a spy, she was able to fool seasoned agents Solo and Illya. During several risky and perilous moments while working her mission, she doesn’t back away. Even when assisting her father on a nuclear weapon, she remains cool and collected. She meets each challenge with a cool veneer, even if it means swallowing her fear. In a strange situation, she will assess and form the best plan of action, instead of panicking. Adaptable Part of working as a spy involves a certain adaptability. She can improvise when needed, though she prefers a plan to follow. While she had not been a fan of pretending to be Illya’s fiancé, Gaby works the role perfectly. She can turn on a false identity like a light switch. Her adaptable is most physically seen in her control of a motor vehicles. Gaby knows cars inside and out, and drives them like a professional. The skills she presents when driving in a chase showcases her ability to adapt from moment to moment, even under high pressure circumstances. Loyal She is loyal to those who she deems worthy of it. Even though she had to betray Illya and Napoleon in order to further her mission, she gave them the window they needed to get away safely. Over the course of their work together, she came to like and trust the two men. She knew that she could not avoid betraying them, but she trusted in their ability to save themselves. She regrets the betrayal, but knew that, for the sake of the mission, they would understand. Even when it came to her father, a large part of her mission was to save him from Victoria. It is, in fact, her great failure that she was not able to. When the mission is complete, there is obvious regret in leaving Illya and Napoleon aside. They may not work perfectly together, but she had come to enjoy it anyway. Stubborn Stubbornness can be an asset, but for Gaby is it also a deep flaw. She is an independent thinker, and isn’t afraid to speak her mind, which means she can often clash with people over different ideals. Most notably, she butts heads with Illya often. In arguments where she feels disregarded, her stubbornness can lead her to hot-headedness. Instead of trying to find common ground and mediate, she is bound to stew about things that upset her. Her retaliation for slights are often passive aggressive in nature. She might go as far not to ask for help when she needs it because she does not want to appear helpless. She knows the pressures and expectations of women in the world, but she prefers to buck them at every step. And so weakness is unacceptable. Prickly While she can act the part of a sweet young woman for a mission, Gaby is actually quite rough around the edges. She led a bleak existence under the shadow of the Berlin Wall and has known a fair amount of hardship. She has lost all of her family, and had very few friends, which are all behind her in Berlin. Her edge serves her well as a spy, as it is not for the faint-hearted. Yet it is not always easy for her to open up to others because of her history. She is likely to be guessing at people’s motives as she socializes, and wonder what advantages might be found. It’s also possible she will distance herself from people instead of risking a loss. That isn’t to say she will cut herself off though. She can converse and socialize well enough, but she might be glossing over her real feelings. Because she speaks her mind, Gaby won’t take barbs lightly. Her words can be harsh under the best of circumstances. Inexperienced Not, perhaps, in the traditional manner of the word. Gaby knows the ways of the world, the birds and the bees, etc., but she has a handicap when it comes to the more consumerist side of the world. Given her history, Gaby is used to bland clothes and cramped homes. She has always known a low class lifestyle. Her adaptability helps her take in and process new experiences, but she had taken the assistance of two men over her post-East Berlin fashion choices because shopping to such extravagance was never a part of her life. She didn’t exactly yearn for luxury, but she is curious about it. Still, there are experiences and things that her perspective could not begin to account for. She could find herself at a loss of things that are new to her Powers and Abilities: Gaby has no supernatural powers or ability. Mechanic Gaby grew up around cars. She could take one apart and put it back together better than before. She doesn’t mind the mess of dirt and grease, and will roll up her sleeves to get to work. Diagnosing a problem and fixing it is practically a game for her. Driver Along with her mechanical skills, Gaby can drive with expertise skill. Knowing a vehicle inside and out helps her know best how to control it. She can turn a car on a dime if necessary. Accidents don’t happen when Gaby is behind the wheel. She’s a bit of a speed demon as well. Inventory: The clothes on her back. A pocket toolkit. Samples: How She Thinks sample thread How She Communicates The automobiles here are different from the ones at home. Not so different that I could not figure out how they work, though. I was wondering if anyone was in possession of one that they would not mind my studying it. I would likely be taking things apart to see how they work, but I can guarantee that I would return everything back to working order. I worked with cars as a mechanic at home and am familiar with their inner workings. I understand some trepidation, but I would not allow for shoddy work. If you are willing, please let me know at your latest convenience. If you need some assurance, I would be happy to show you how I work, and answer any questions you might have. Similarly, if anyone is familiar with the kind of vehicles they have here, I would be interested to hear what you know. Perhaps we could exchange information. I wonder, are there any formal racing events here? |
